The Penn State football team continues to push towards building its 2025 recruiting class. This summer will be massive for the Nittany Lions, with several key prospects taking official visits to Happy Valley during this time. One of those players is the No. 1 linebacker in the 2025 cycle, Zayden Walker, who now has his official visit and commitment date scheduled.

Penn State football closing in on the No. 1 linebacker in 2025 cycle

Zayden Walker is a five-star recruit and is listed as the No. 1 linebacker in the 2025 recruiting class according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also a top 20 prospect, ranking 19th overall in the 2025 cycle. From Ellaville, GA, football runs in Walker’s family. His brother, Zykeivous Walker, was a 2020 signee who plays for the Auburn Tigers. His other brother, Jalewis Solomon, is a 2024 recruiting class signee for South Carolina.

On Wednesday, Zayden Walker told Chad Simmons of On3 that he had set his commitment date for July 5. He will choose between Georiga, Miami, South Carolina, and Penn State.

When will Walker visit Happy Valley?

The big question for James Franklin and Tom Allen to have a legitimate shot at landing Walker is, when will he visit the Nittany Lions? He has yet to set foot on campus; however, that will change in the next few weeks. Both On3 and 247Sports have confirmed that Walker will take his official visit to Happy Valley on June 7.

Before Penn State, Walker will take his official visit to Georgia on May 31. Then, following his Penn State visit, he will head to Miami on June 14 and South Carolina the following week. If the Nittany Lions can make a lasting impression, they have a chance to secure one of the top prospects in the 2025 recruiting class.
